Platform FAQ

    What is Xtify?

Xtify is an ASP / Notifications Platforms that delivers notifications and messages directly to your mobile users' devices and prompts users to take desired actions - whenever and wherever most appropriate, based on geo-location and geo-history.

    How does Xtify work?

Xtify creates a system service on the mobile device that opens an XMPP channel between your user and Xtify's server. That channel is used to upload user location data and to download messages and notifications. You can then create messaging campaigns using our web-based console.

How does the system service get installed?

Developers incorporate and compile the Xtify SDK into their existing application. Configuration and integration of the SDK is simple and should take only a few minutes.

How do I create messages and notifications?

Developers are provided with a log-in to our Notifications Console which includes complete campaign management capabilities as well as comprehensive reporting and analytics.

    Is the Platform complicated?

No. Our platform is flexible – you can create simple campaigns or more complex campaigns. It's up to you.

    Is it battery intensive?

Xtify relies on the location services native to the OS and does not use GPS by default. Our tests show that there is negligible strain on battery and system performance.

Can any other developer send messages to my user?

No. Each application and user combination is assigned a universally unique identifier. Only you can send messages to your user.

What if I want to create messages dynamically?

Web-services can interface with our API's for dynamic message creation.

Can my users turn notifications off?

The SDK is configurable by the developer to offer several options to the user. The user can turn location updates on/off, turn messaging on/off, and can provide users with a rating system to opt-out of specific message types.

    What about privacy?

Location is a sensitive topic. Location is stored by random ID only – personally identifiable information is never collected.
